After our social justice discernment in 2014, a small group of Chalice congregants met to think about our work on economic justice going forward. While we did some good envisioning of what economic justice work at Chalice could look like, we’ve come to realize we don’t have the time and energy to have an ongoing economic justice task force at this time. Many of us still care deeply about minimum wage and homelessness issues, so there may come a time when interested congregants create an ongoing group to work on one or both of these issues. In the meantime, our justice work will focus on immigration and related issues, as well as engaging the congregation in the denomination’s social witness process.
