An intrepid group of Social Justice Teammates worked at the Food Bank May 6 preparing bags of food for the “Client Choice Pantry,” providing emergency assistance of free food for folks who show up at the Food Bank without an appointment. Each bag had canned chicken, several types of canned veggies, applesauce, rice, lentils, and powdered milk. We prepared 533 bags in our three hour shift, almost half of the one thousand bags required each month.
