Auction Details for First-Timers

If you are new to Chalice, you may not be familiar with our annual auction, which is TOMORROW (Saturday, February 8) starting at 4 PM. Congregants bring finger foods, beer, wine & other beverages are provided. It is a GREAT party atmosphere, meeting with friends old and new, and an opportunity to acquire fabulous items at VERY attractive prices.

The auction categories are Party Time, Treasures, Gourmet, Service & Silent. ALL items are contributed by Chalice congregants and ALL proceeds go to Chalice. This is our largest fund raising event of the year except for the annual pledge drive.

In the silent auction, which starts at 4 PM, you pick up your paddle (for the regular auction), review the items in the silent auction and place your bid using your paddle number. The high bid wins the item.

The live auction, held in the chapel, starts at 5:30 PM. It is conducted in the normal fashion, high bidder(s) win the item. Entertainment will be provided throughout the evening by Chalice congregants and our young people.

Physical items (like art pieces, clothing, jewelry, and some food items) will be taken home that evening. You will receive an invoice by email for the total of your winnings.

The auction catalog was emailed to all congregants on Feb. 1, so you can see the wide variety of wonderful choices available.
