As a follow-up to the Social Justice Forum of March 18, the proposed new Chalice Social Justice Homelessness Program is meeting on Sunday, June 25 at 12:15PM in the Sanctuary. Several congregants recently met with Interfaith Community Services (the main provider of homelessness services in North County). ICS suggested that Chalice UU support Haven House, their year-round shelter in Escondido. This opportunity will require a once-monthly Chalice commitment to provide dinner for about 60-70 people at Haven House, prepared offsite at our expense. The help and continuing commitment of approximately 15 Chalice UU members or friends is required.
All are welcome to attend this meeting on June 25 at 12:15PM, where we will update you on our conversation with Interfaith Community Services and discuss Chalice’s Social Justice Homelessness Program.
