About
We are a Unitarian Universalist congregation, a house of love, hope, and dreams. We strive to be a beacon of liberal religion in Escondido and all of inland North County San Diego.
We are brave, curious, and compassionate thinkers and doers.
We are diverse in faith, ethnicity, history and spirituality, but aligned in our desire to practice our faith in tangible ways. We are people who believe in a God, people who don’t, and people who let the mystery be.
We join together to seek justice, joy, and a great love that we’re all a part of.
We covenant with one another to open our hearts and minds, to foster a safe, inviting and loving community, and treat one another genuinely and respectfully.
We affirm eight Principles, the first of which is a deep recognition of each person’s inherent dignity and worth. You can read more about the eighth principle, which we adopted at our June 12, 2022 congregational meeting. We draw on many sources, including wisdom from the world’s religions, earth-centered traditions, Jewish and Christian teachings, and humanist teachings which counsel us to heed the guidance of reason and the results of science.
We have radical roots and a history as self-motivated spiritual people: we think for ourselves and actively object to what we believe is wrong. We have a track record of answering the call of love, justice, and peace.
We are a welcoming congregation, affirming the life and love of lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender people.
We govern ourselves, joining our congregation with the larger Unitarian Universalist community, but free of an official hierarchy.
Simply put, we are a guided path towards a better you and a better world.
We welcome atheists, agnostics, seekers, and people who don’t exactly fit into theological boxes. Our congregation includes people who grew up in a church, people who grew up Jewish, and people who have never been a part of a religious community. We are a home for religiously blended families and theologically blended people. Join us as we each journey toward wholeness and insight.
